Established in 1980, the Housing Association Information
Program (HAIP) is a housing counseling and referral subsidiary of HADV. Since
its inception, HAIP has assisted over 15,000 families to obtain or retain
decent, safe, affordable housing. Designated by the City of Philadelphia's
Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) as one of two
"super" counseling agencies, the Housing Association Information
Program provides a complete range of comprehensive housing counseling and
referral services to low, moderate and middle income Philadelphia residents at
no charge. Services rendered include:
The Housing Association
Information Program provides counseling for the following local housing
development initiatives: Cecil B. Moore Townhouses, West Poplar Nehemiah
Townhouses, and the Townhouses of West Oakdale Street.

The Cecil
B. Moore Townhouses will consist of 296 new and fully rehabilitated townhouses
located on the 1500-1700 blocks of N. 18th Street and the 1700 block of Oxford
Street in North Philadelphia. These units are affordably priced from $41,000 to
$46,000.

The West
Poplar Nehemiah Townhouses will consist of approximately 184 units of new
construction located in Eastern North Philadelphia. These units will be twin
townhouses affordably priced at $57,000.

The
Townhouses of West Oakdale Street will consist of 10 fully rehabilitated unit6s
located in Western North Philadelphia. These units will be affordably priced
from $39,000.
The Housing Association Information
Program in 1997 was designated as a "Neighborhood Energy Center".
HAIP is poised to provide emergency utility grants to prevent termination of
utility services to families in need. Special loan and grant programs are also
available to residents facing eviction or foreclosure.

Program is certified by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) to provide services to all interested parties. All services are available

v Bachelors degree in housing or related field or (3) three years work experience in counseling on housing matters

Position Title: Bookkeeper:
Immediate
Supervisor: Agency's controller.
Duties include: preparing monthly financial reports; data
entry; monitoring accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow using accounting
software; preparing financial reports for local, state and federal contracts;
phoning in and entering payroll into computer software; processing invoices;
and other related duties. Must have excellent bookkeeping and accounting
skills. Experience conducting bookkeeping for a nonprofit
corporation is a plus; a thorough knowledge of accounting software and
Microsoft Office is required. Associate's degree in business or
public administration or equivalent experience. Competitive salary and
